JOURNEYING WITHOUT A MAP
LIKE A SHIP ON A MYSTERY VOYAGE sailing under sealed orders, we all start out in life traveling to a place we know not where. It will be revealed later. Meanwhile we must go out in faith, journeying under sealed orders without a map. In like manner, all the pioneers of faith have ventured out, not knowing where they were going - but going nonetheless.
Security with God never means sitting still or remaining static. Instead, it means moving continually on the way to some goal beyond the present that beckons to us but has yet been unattained. The symbol of this kink of faith would be a hoisted sail, not an anchor. The goal is “a promised land” out ahead, not a heaven of rest.
