WHEN THE BEST WE HAVE IS NOT ENOUGH
IN THE COURSE OF LIFE, we encounter those impossible situations when out burdens are too heavy to carry, our problems too entangled for us to straighten out, and our anxieties too oppressive for us to bear. Only a power great and loving enough to lift what we cannot support, unsnarl what we cannot figure out, and relieve what we can no longer fight can get us through without disaster. Our confidence comes from knowing God, to whom we can give the burdens that are too great for the best we have. Like the mighty Niagara Falls that brings power where it’s needed, in the Lord Jesus the vase resources of God are brought to the places where the best we have is not enough.
